Some of Our Coaches

“What you are as a person is far more important than what you are as a basketball player.” John Wooden

Coaching a sport is a relatively easy job but coaching players is not. For most, coaching has to be much more than a job – it has to be a passion. There has to be passion for the game you are coaching. There has to be passion for the players you are coaching. There has to be passion to teach. When you break it all down – that is exactly what a coach is – a teacher!

Pinnacle Sports has some of the finest teachers and coaches of youth sports that you will find anywhere in this area. They are passionate, caring and loving people who want to produce better players but, more importantly, produce better people.

Here is just a small sampling of who is coaching your sons and daughters at Pinnacle Sports:

  • Glenn McCoy, Pinnacle Sports Director of Softball, is the head softball coach at Copley High School. He has led the girls to two Suburban League titles in the last two years but he is most proud of the girls because “they love each other like sisters”.
  • Zdravko Popovic, Pinnacle Sports Director of Soccer, is the founder, owner and Head Girls Coach for Cleveland International Girls Soccer Club. His accolades are two many to mention but his passion is “teaching the life lessons to all of his players through soccer and team sports”.
  • Steve Wright, Pinnacle Sports Baseball/Softball Administrator, is in his rookie season as head baseball coach at Buckeye High School. For the first time in many years, Steve has led the Bucks toward both the PAC title and district champion.
  • Brian Shannon, Pinnacle Sports Maintenance Director, is also in his rookie season as freshman baseball coach at Buckeye High School.
  • Bill Goddard, Pinnacle Sports Head Baseball Coach, was the head baseball coach for Wadsworth High School for 17+ years.
  • Keri Sarver, Pinnacle Sports Staff Soccer Coach, coaches for Internationals Girls Soccer Club and is also a coach for the US National U18 Women’s team.
  • Leslie Neice, Pinnacle Sports Staff Soccer Coach, coaches for the Everest Soccer Club and is the head girl’s soccer coach for Kent Roosevelt High School.
  • Brian White, Pinnacle Sports Edge Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, recently trained two athletes who were drafted in the 2012 NFL Draft and signed by two NFL teams.

These people are the best coaches in the area and – more importantly – wonderful role models. They exemplify the Mission of Pinnacle Sports – Developing Athletes For Life. If you haven’t – it’s is time for you to come and meet them!
